About Us:
The idea for The Tiny Dot was born not long after my older daughter Dorothy, known as Dottie or Dot (see where I’m going with this?) in the summer of 2007. After spending many years working in retail, I decided to stay home with Dottie full time when she arrived. But as much as I loved spending every day with her, I found that I missed my job very much. At the same time, I was having a very difficult time finding the kinds of unique and stylish pieces that I craved for my little girl to wear.
On a Thanksgiving trip to my mother-in-law’s small and lovely Mississippi hometown, I discovered several adorable children’s boutiques, the likes of which did not exist for me at home. I began to wonder why two such special stores existed in this tiny town, and none in our big city. The idea to combine two of my loves came to me, and I was thrilled to discover that my husband was on board right away!
With the unflagging help of my husband and family, especially my wonderful mother, The Tiny Dot opened its doors less than a year later, in August of 2008. Ever since, we have had the pleasure of providing a fun atmosphere for kids and parents alike, and just the kinds of stylish pieces I dreamed of for Dottie from the beginning. We have loved becoming a part of our community and getting to know and befriend our customers.
We were excited to welcome our second little girl, Lulu, this Spring. Poised to inherit Dottie's hand-me-downs, Lulu will be the only girl in town with a wardrobe bigger and better than her older sister's - because of course I can't resist buying every cute new thing that hits our racks for her, too!
